I'm Shannon Salter, an educator and writer with experience teaching composition, rhetoric, and literature. My focus is on rhetorical awareness, ways of seeing, and place-based learning. I help students develop confidence in their own voices and deeper attentiveness to the world around them.
My research and creative work explore the ethics of perception, environmental writing, and multimodal composition, with particular attention to how acts of seeing can shape relationships to land, community, and social justice.
